At Southern Surrogacy, we offer surrogates the opportunity to negotiate and set their own compensation fees.
Knowing Your Worth as a Surrogate
Pregnancy is accompanied by many physical and emotional demands; compensation is given in exchange for a surrogate’s dedication and sacrifice. Our surrogates tell us that they use the money for things like investing in a new home, setting up a college fund for their children, and paying off debt.
Surrogates receive several types of payments totaling approximately $40,000 – $50,000. But the amounts can vary depending on several factors such as geographic location, medical history, surrogacy experience, and other factors. The types of payment you will receive as a surrogate include:
- A competitive base pay paid in monthly installments after pregnancy is confirmed
- Additional monthly payments to compensate for issues like lost wages (these payments may be based on the circumstances of the pregnancy)
- Reimbursement for all out-of-pocket expenses during pregnancy (e.g., travel costs, maternity clothing, and other costs)
- A flat fee reimbursement for medical screenings, a contract signing bonus, a C-section delivery, and other considerations
- A bonus for repeat surrogate pregnancies (i.e., $5,000 per pregnancy)
